Approach
Allison has earned a reputation for her approachable, creative, and hands-on style. She dives deeply to get to know each client, their communications challenges, and what’s important to them. Her rich experience across many areas of healthcare and public health enables her to quickly become a trusted advisor, confidence builder, and reliable partner for clients as they prepare for a range of high-stakes events and conversations – from preparing for regulatory meetings, launching new products, engaging stakeholders or advocating issues in the policy landscape.
Background
Allison began her career in the Washington, DC office of former Texas Governor Ann Richards. Part scheduler, writer, and issue tracker, she was also a full-time problem solver. She then worked in federal government, supporting communications and congressional relations for the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation, followed by a move to the private sector where she focused on public relations, public affairs, and public policy. Allison ran the Washington office for a global healthcare public relations agency, where she supported industry, academic, and non-profit institutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Special Interests
Child health and public health policy have long been Allison’s passions. When a friend’s two young daughters were diagnosed with a rare, neurodegenerative and incurable disease, she helped create a global, interdisciplinary coalition to advocate the benefits of newborn screening. Outside of the office, Allison can be found in a quiet theatre with her drama-major daughter or on a loud ice rink with her hockey-playing son.
