Tom Laughery, MBA
Tom leverages three decades of experience as a pharmaceutical executive, with leadership roles in marketing, sales, and enterprise support. As a Vice-President in the U.S. and global commercial, he was responsible for launch strategy and execution and driving market access and product growth in the U.S. and around the world.
Approach
Tom believes in a wide-narrow-wide approach to projects. He starts by listening to stakeholders inside and outside an organization, then narrows down on key insights to build strategies and tactics, which are critical for a successful plan, and, finally, returns to a broader approach to build alignment. The result is consistent implementation across the entire organization. He brings broad functional knowledge and expertise in strategic planning, market access, marketing and sales, and a relentlessly positive attitude.
Background
Tom started his career with GlaxoSmithKline as a product manager, leading teams in virtually every area of the commercial function. As Vice President of Global Portfolio Strategy at ViiV Healthcare, he led the global launch of four brands in a franchise which grew to 55 markets and annual sales of more than $5 billion. Prior to that, Tom led the US launch of brands in depression, infectious diseases, and smoking cessation. He has a BS in Geology from University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.

He loves the Mountain West and spends as much time as possible hiking and fishing near his small cabin in Wyoming.
