Cara’s 20 years of healthcare and pharmaceutical industry experience brings 3D Communications’ clients valuable insights into a broad range of communications. Her ability to quickly size up a situation, analyze the complex stakeholder environment, understand the science, and decipher what messages will make a difference, helps transform executives into master communicators – and companies into trusted partners.
Cara knows what works in the toughest situations with the most critical audiences. She brings these insights to her clients, helping executives incorporate their audience’s needs into every communications strategy. She works with leaders to frame messages and develop narratives rooted in facts and visualized through engaging storytelling. She then coaches them to deliver their story with authenticity, conviction, and purpose. Cara sees every communication as means to drive personal, professional, and business success.
Prior to joining 3D Communications, Cara led communications for ViiV Healthcare North America, where she built community programs to help end HIV/AIDS and provided strategic leadership and communications oversight – including initiatives focused on drug pricing, patient access, and value in the marketplace. Cara also worked at GSK and Merck in policy and government affairs, regulatory affairs, and academic and medical affairs, supporting multiple regulatory approvals, product launches, global corporate campaigns, and special leadership projects. As public affairs director at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, she worked daily with media, elected officials, community organizations, and leadership. She received a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins and a Master of Public Health degree from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health. She is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.
Cara’s passion for helping people goes beyond communications. She is an active volunteer for local charities, including Family Promise of Wake County and Ronald McDonald House of Wake and Durham. She is a sports enthusiast who also enjoys cooking, traveling the world, and spending time with her family.
