Amy brings more than 25 years of experience building and leading corporate communications teams, creating communications strategies, and advising C-suite and other executives to develop and deliver impactful messages. She has spent her career in highly-regulated and complex industries including pharmaceuticals, health insurance, and financial services. Amy is an expert in developing and executing integrated communications plans that reach multiple audiences from employees and governments to patients, providers, advocacy groups, and the media. She has also worked on high-stakes communications to facilitate mergers and acquisitions, organizational transformation, and change management.

Approach

Amy starts each project by gaining a deep understanding of the client’s business needs and then partners with them to establish clear goals, identify the motivations and interests of their audiences, and coaches them to communicate with transparency and authenticity.

Background

Previously, Amy led corporate communications for Humana, a fortune 50 healthcare company. She transformed the communications function, worked with the C-suite to develop a consumer message strategy, and managed communications during the initial COVID-19 outbreak. Prior to Humana, Amy led US communications at Novartis where she managed high-profile litigation, public policy, and reputation issues globally across the company’s businesses. She also led US corporate communications, patient advocacy, and government affairs for Boehringer Ingelheim. Throughout her experience, Amy has led numerous special initiatives on behalf of CEOs and executive teams. She has mentored and coached top talent as well as emerging leaders and has been an advocate for Diversity & Inclusion initiatives including women’s, nXgen, and LGBQT resource groups. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in technical journalism and a minor in business from Colorado State University.

Special Interests

Amy has a passion for social impact nationally and locally. She was president of the Boehringer Ingelheim and Novartis foundations and renewed strategies to address disparities in care. She volunteers for the Heritage Village and Senior Center in her community and spends free time being active outdoors and with her family.
